Home & FamilyI moved to Boulder from Washington state in 1997 for graduate school at CU and to be near a dear friend and theatre collaborator. My partner, Carri, and I then moved to Denver in 2000. People often ask me if I miss the ocean, but I fell in love with the Rockies and the big sky and the bright sun - and the diverse people who similarly find their home here - and I hope I never have to leave. It was our great relief and pleasure to move to Fort Collins in July 2014 following my call to Associate Minster. We live in the quickly-growing Rigden Farm neighborhood where feel a wonderful sense of community with our neighbors.
Carri holds a Master of Social Work, and oversees the Older Adults and Caregiver Services program of Lutheran Family Services in both Denver and Fort Collins. She and I have been together since 1999, and had a non-legal ceremony in 2002, a legal civil union in May 2013, and a fully legal marriage ceremony in front of nearly 20 UU Ministers on the day it became legal in Colorado in October 2014. Our children, Gracie Ella (10) and Josef (7) attend fourth and second grade at Riffenburgh Elementary in Fort Collins. Gracie loves art, dance, fashion and music, and has art supplies stashed in every room (and the car) so she can always seize her constant inspiration. Josef loves football, baseball, hockey, basketball, soccer, tennis, track......and many other sports that he has yet to discover; he loves to beat box and tell *hilarious* jokes, and has a total obsession with stuffed animals. Together our family loves to go on bike rides, watch movies, read, color, do puzzles, and play at the park. We love making cannonballs and doing somersaults into the pool, playing board games, and skating to current or 80's pop music at the roller rink. We never leave the library with fewer than 20 books, and we are always looking for new and fun restaurants as the kids are very adventurous eaters. Most of all we love to share good meals, stories and laughter with our friends and family. |
